Sundance Kid Trail

Head of Sinbad Trail

BIO:
Harry Longabaugh, alias Sundance Kid, learned the cowboying trade on the Cross H Ranch in La Sal, Utah. Old timers claimed he was the fastest draw they had ever seen. After a long life on the Outlaw Trail he settled in Mt. Pleasant, Utah where he shot and killed a local marshal. Sundance died at the Utah State Prison.
DIRECTIONS:
Take I-70 west to Exit 131. Turn left under the highway, there is a BLM sign and directions at the highway entrance. Turn right and travel west. There are two or three routes, you want to take the one marked “Head of Sinbad”. When you arrive at the cabin, you will want to continue down the “Eagle Canyon Trailhead”. You will turn left on Trail 822, left again at Trail 929, turn right on 926, and right again on 925. This will bring you back to the Head of Sinbad road. Be sure to take a map with the trail numbers as there are many ways to get where you are going. BE SURE TO BRING A CAMERA WITH LOTS OF MEMORY! There are many wonderful photo opps on this trail.
DESCRIPTION:
This is a more difficult trail with rocky slopes, narrow and winding roads, but should not be too difficult for the experienced rider. There are some places that might be trickier for the younger rider. Be sure to stop at Swasey’s Cabin, and take the Icebox Trail. It is beautiful country, and an interesting ride.
